Some hints for those who use MixW in the YO International PSK31 Contest

1. STATS file

Nick UT2UZ developed a statistics DLL file (StatsYOPSK.dll) for this contest.

You can download it from here: Downloads

Unzip and copy to your /MixW/Plugins/ folder, then choose from Contest Settings dialog). In order to see the statistics during the contest, go to the menu View -> Statistics and check Show contest statistics.

Note: seems, that the STATS file does not work with versions 2.18 and later, the program immediately crashes as you put a character in the callsign box. So you must disable using STATS file during the contest, or revert to V2.17 or earlier. :((

But AFTER the contest if you enable it, and select Statistics -> Show contest statistics you can see the points, multipliers and the final score.

2. Logging

In order to create a proper Cabrillo format log, MixW must be properly configured before stations are worked and logged.  Some text editing will also be required to transform the Cabrillo file that MixW produces after the contest.  Here are the steps for using MixW in the YO PSK31 contest and creating a correct Cabrillo format file:

2.1. Set up for the contest using MixW's View -> Contest mode menu item. Create a new contest setup using the Add new button. Be sure to fill in the correct UTC start and end dates and times for this year's running of the contest in the Contest settings dialog. Check the AutoInc check box to produce the serial number in your sent exchange.
2.2. Program your sent exchange macro to contain your sent RST (599 or <RSTS>), the serial number (<NRS>) and your YO county/DXCC code, e.g.
 <TX> <CALL> TU UR 599 <NRS> MM de YO5CRQ <RX>
2.3. Log the received exchange for each contact into the following two fields:
          * RST_recvd
          * Exch_recvd - (serial number plus county/DXCC, without a space between them (otherwise, in the generated cabrillo log the received exchange will be lost!)

3. Exporting the log in Cabrillo format

3.1. After the contest, use the Cabrillo export function in MixW to create your Cabrillo file. Select the contest QSOs in the log, click the to Cabrillo button, select the Simple (RST & exch number) Cabrillo format, then click OK.
3.2. Open up the Cabrillo file in a text editor (Notepad, Wordpad, MS Word, etc.) and add your sent YO county/DXCC code to the end of your sent serial number in every QSO.
3.3. Verify that the received exchanges in your Cabrillo file have all of the exchange information: RST, a space, and the serial number+county/DXCC, as in the example in the rules. If you entered the exchange with a space between the serial number and the county/DXCC, you will only see the serial number and not the county/DXCC, and you will have to add the county/DXCC by hand (or go back into the MixW log and edit all of your received exchanges to remove the space).
3.4. Save the edited Cabrillo file from the text editor.
